* Motive 3.3 or later
* OptiTrack OpenXR Plugin 1.3.0 or later

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** If you are using the Varjo OpenXR runtime, you do *not* need to launch SteamVR to use the OptiTrack OpenXR plugin. This is the method we found most successful.

If you prefer to use SteamVR’s OpenXR runtime with your Varjo headset instead, you can do so by following the step called [SteamVR Setup](https://docs.optitrack.com/plugins/optitrack-openxr-plugin#steam-vr-setup) in the OptiTrack OpenXR Plugin guide. The settings in Varjo Base do not need to be adjusted.

When SteamVR is properly configured, the Compatibility section of the system settings in Varjo Base will look like the the image below.
{% endhint %}

* In the Compatibility section, under the OpenXR API layers menu item, press Open.
  * Then, from the OpenXR API layers window, ensure the `XR_APILAYER_OPTITRACK_tracking_override` option is enabled.

* Return to the Headset tab from the ribbon menu at the top left corner of the application. The default startup screen should appear.
* The Varjo runtime is now configured with the OptiTrack OpenXR plugin.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.optitrack.com/v3.3/plugins/optitrack-openxr-plugin/openxr-plugin-configure-with-a-varjo-hmd.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
